Day 61:A Loss

A Loss

11/21
Today was a really sad day for my family and though this picture may seem very simple, it actually holds a lot of heartache for me. My sisters dog, Strider, passed away quite suddenly and under really strange circumstances.  It was a really sad story that I don't feel like retelling, just thinking about it hurts, but I took this picture because my thoughts were with my sister and her family all day. The "Milkbone" in the picture is actually my dog Charlie's along with some of his other food laying on the carpet at my mom's house. After learning about the passing of Strider and feeling helpless since my sister lived all the way  in North Carolina, I decided I had to go see Charlie after work. I was feeling like the only way to feel better was to be comforted by my dog.

Day 60: I Like Shadows

I Like Shadows
11/20
I have figured out that I like taking pictures of shadows. In looking at pictures I have taken in the past, shadows seem to be a recurring subject matter. Sure that might be boring....but there is something about them that I really like. I think it is all about the forms they create, like in this picture the shadow of the tree on the trailer looks pretty creepy, and the more I stare at it the more I see clouds rather than a tree. I noticed this shadow on the trailer next door to my grandparents house on my late night search for the picture of the day.

Day 59: A Peek Through the Fence

A Peek Through the Fence

11/19
So at this point, it was really becoming habit to take pictures at night. Because of work I really didn't want to take my camera with me everyday and if I didn't really go anywhere or nothing significant happened, taking pictures everyday was getting harder. But I was determined....pictures everyday for a year! (needless to say this wont be the last night picture. HA!) This picture is the view into my neighbors (my mom's neighbor I should say) backyard. Something simple....something cool.

Day 58: Lazy with a Cold Wet Nose

Lazy with a Cold Wet Nose

11/18
I was back at my moms after visiting Monica and was just catching up on some sleep after my crazy trip. Charlie was just relaxing and being lazy too, so I took his picture since his mood matched mine.

Day 57: Live, Laugh, Love

Live Laugh Love

11/17
This picture marks the adventure to McAllen to see Monica. The bus I was suppose to take from San Antonio to McAllen was SUPER delayed and  I ended up getting stuck overnight at that bus station. I had such a long night....I was kind of creeped out all night because I was the only girl at the bus station... definitely no sleeping for me!!!!! I lost lots of time with Monica and when I finally arrived to McAllen, all we did was go back to her apartment to sleep, have dinner, then go see our movie at midnight. Then I left late that morning after the movie. But of course it was all worth it in the end! It was a very quick trip and pretty crazy...I just had to laugh about the experience. Let's just say it was the last time I took the bus! This saying "Live, Laugh, Love" is one of Monica's favorite sayings and she had it hanging on the wall by her kitchen table. I thought it was so fitting for this trip and pretty much summed up the experience so it's the picture for today.

Day 56: Alien

Alien

11/16
I was hanging out at my mom's house before I left on my bus trip to go see Monica when I needed to figure out a picture of the day. I didn't want to whip out my camera at the bus station....(who knows what would have happened, even though that would have probably been interesting) so I needed to take a pic before I got there. I was hanging out in the living room and saw this scene in front of me while I was sitting on the couch. Charlie's little toy Alien laying on the floor by the heater that looks like a fire place....I just thought it was funny, and weird, and different.

Day 55: Besties

Besties
11/15
The past couple of days, I had been trying to plan a trip to visit my best friend Monica so she was very much on my mind when I took this picture. Trying to see her was all complicated because she was living far away and driving an unreliable car (sunfire) to see her wasn't really an option. But I was determined (we had to see our midnight showing of Breaking Dawn, it is just something best friends do, plus this was going to be my first visit to see her) so.....I figured out a way.....I must take the bus to McAlllen!!! My family wasn't too happy with my decision to ride the bus that far alone, but it was the safer option. And plus I am a big girl! This picture represents the things going on in my mind during this time: Mona & Edward Cullen! This was just the start of another funny story...adventurous always happen when you are talking about me and Mona....and little did I know I was about to have a BIG adventure. :)
