Day 52: The Joseph

The Joseph
11/12
I was at my mom's house and my brother comes home and just lays on the floor in the living room. I guess he was tired? So I laid down next time him a took his picture. Unfortunately, he heard me and got up (he doesn't like when I do that) so I didn't get to take any more of him all relaxed like this. What a poop he is!

Day 51: Lucky Day

Lucky Day
11/11
Happy Birthday Grandma! Since 11/11/11 just happened to be my grandmother's 74th birthday and was suppose to be a lucky day, my grandma wanted to go play bingo! So I took her out along with my brother and cousin to play bingo and hopefully WIN BIG! ...I guess we didn't have any luck after all because none of the four of us won, but we did have tons of fun. We were all being so silly and laughed so hard. The night consisted of watching grouchy old ladies dot their game boards, eating junk food, and watching my brother trying really had to keep up when the numbers were called. It was a really good night and I think my grandma really enjoyed her birthday. I took my (losing) bingo card home so that I could use it for the picture of the day.

Day 50: Horizon

Horizon
11/10
This is the view I see almost every day when I leave the gym. The parking lot of the gym sits on a hill that is overlooking Live Oak, the neighborhood I grew up in. I really enjoy this view and seeing the sunset here....so after a long day and hard work out :) it made a nice moment and a nice picture.

Day 49: Midnight

Midnight
11/9
So this picture wasn't actually taken at midnight...I just named it that because it felt mysterious. I had taken my tripod outside to use it for the last time (I had to give it away) and used it to take a long exposure of the moon. The clouds were moving rather quickly across the sky so I waited just until they had moved a little closer to take this. Again...I really enjoy this calm, quiet, but a little unnerving feeling that happens at night.

Day 48: Grandpa's Entertainment Center

Grandpa's Entertainment Center
11/8
After my grandparents went to bed, I decided to photograph their living room. There is a lot of stuff crammed into this space....like the rest of the house, but what else can you expect when they have lived here for so long? There are so many memories and so much history in their house...I really love to photograph it because of that. Living with them has actually given me lots of opportunities to record parts of their house that are really worth remembering. Things don't last forever, and I want my photographs to capture pieces of the life they have created and all the things that help make their house the home I have always known. I am very grateful to have the time to take these pictures so that I can always remember this place.

Day 47: The Backyard

The Backyard
11/7
This is a long exposure of the backyard at my moms house. I really love how this doesn't seem as late as it actually was...it was pitch black outside! I have discovered that I really like taking long exposures at night because of how calm it makes me feel. I enjoy taking a moment to be alone and relax in how still and quiet everything is a night...a moment just to sit and breathe...and wait for a picture....
