Day 46: Combat Medic

Combat Medic
11/6
Whenever my grandpa goes out, he is always wearing one of those hats. He was a combat medic in Vietnam and is very proud of it. And I am very proud of him too !! When I was looking for something to take a picture of, the night stand on his side of my grandparents bed appealed to me. I also really liked the touch of my grandma in the picture too. The handmade curtain and dust cover...along with the wrapping paper and hangers.

Day 45: Strange

Strange
11/5
I had just come home from a wedding (my best friend Monica's brother had just got married) and I was in desperate need to take a picture for the day. Though this picture has nothing to do with the wedding, I just remember this was the first time I was anxious to get to my camera since it was getting home past midnight . When I got home the sky was a very strange reddish orange color....I guess because it was pretty cloudy, the city lights were reflecting a weird color in the clouds.

Day 44: An Old Collection

An Old Collection
11/4
My grandpa is a big collector of movies. As you can see, he has a rather large collection of VHS....he has tons of DVD's too. When I was getting ready for bed, I walked by this shelf of movies as I normally do, and decided that these movies needed to be the picture for the day.

Day 43: Cake Ornament

Cake Ornament
11/3
I went to work late to decorate the store for Christmas on this day. Doing this is one of my favorite things about my job! I love coming in late and over night transforming the store into Christmas. It is A LOT of work, but I love getting the chance of being creative and displaying things in every part of the store. After I finished decorating, I photographed everything in the store. This picture is a detail of our store Christmas Tree which had a baking theme.

Day 42: Solitaire

Solitaire
11/2
More often then not, you can find my grandpa sitting at his computer playing solitaire. I think it is funny how much he plays this game, in fact I think it is the main reason he even owns a computer. While I was watching tv in the living room, I noticed him playing an intense game of solitaire...so when I knew he wasn't paying any attention to me, I decided to take his picture.

Day 41: Grandpa's Wardrobe

Grandpa's Wardrobe
 11/1
What is it about Grandpa's and always wearing plaid? :) I saw these shirts hanging on a chair in my grandparents bedroom and had to take a picture of them. I think these are the three he actually wears most often. When I picture my grandpa I definitely always think of him in a plaid shirt!

*Note to self, the actual picture for this day was lost when the hard drive crashed late in December. This was a "cheat".

Day 40: Joey's Pumpkins

Joey's Pumpkins
10/31
My brother carved these pumpkins himself for Halloween. I was very proud of him because I am usually the one that gets stuck doing it, and this year he wanted to do it himself. I think he did an awesome job and here is how they looked all lite up on Halloween night.

Day 39: The Nerd

The Nerd
10/30
This was day two of dressing up at work, and here again is the nerd. Notice the tape of the glasses and hair sticking up in the back.....he also had a sign on his back that said "Kick Me". What a dork!

Day 38: Scream !!!

Scream !!!
10/29
We got to dress up all weekend at work for Halloween. I had so much fun that weekend with Tony, he has to be the funniest and most fanciful person I know. We both had 50's costumes, I had a pink 50's dress and he was the classic school nerd. Here is Tony having a grand time with a skeleton in the Parlor at work. Spooky huh?

Day 37: The Balcony

The Balcony
10/28
What a night this was!!!!! I was shooting a wedding for the first time with my friend Brittney and it turned out to be an crazy, adventurous night. I was super freaked out (it being my first wedding) and had just come off working over time at my job so I was super tired. The evening started out good, I was mainly shooting details of the wedding since I was the back up photographer, but as the night progressed things started to unravel. I started to get this huge headache which was causing me to have to visit the bathroom a lot to throw up (eww)! I think this was due to a lack of sleep and food. Then while I was MIA, Brittney's camera broke in the middle of shooting and she had to borrow a camera from a guest at the wedding who just happened to be a friend of her families. We were super anxious for the night to be over. Though the evening didn't go over very well...I am glad I shared that crazy night with Brittney. Definitely a learning experience for both of us. So the picture from this day was one I took at the beginning of the night before I got super sick. This balcony was set up with tables for guests to go outside during the reception. I really liked the lighting here as the sun was going down.
